The client is a large multi national packaging design consultancy. The brief was to prepare prototype packaging for two new condoms.

Medallion Packs
The client had designed a shallow circular injection moulded plastic tub into which a rolled condom was positioned "the right way up" along with a few drops of lubricant. The pack was to be sealed with a heat sealed foil top. The packaging resembled medallions and was available in four colours of gold, red, green and blue.

The client had commissioned an injection moulding tool and could supply the mouldings fully finished in metallised colours. The client had limited in-house prototytpe facilties and was looking for someone to manufacture one thousand trial packs of each different colour for consumer testing. The client was able to supply the condoms, plastic tubs and lubricant.

A custom heat sealing machine was designed and built to produce four thousand integrity checked product packs.

Femidom
The female condom or femidom was conceived as a way of giving women control over condom method contraception. The client had designed a range of packaging concepts and this was shortlisted by their client to four. The client wanted a small batch production of each version for initial consumer feedback. The task was to prepare tooling and manufacture of vacuum formed parts and heat seal them with product and lubricant.

A custom heat sealing machine and vacuum forming tooling was designed and built to produce a short batch of integrity checked product packs.
