The client is an entrepreneur with a keen interest in gardening and recycling. The client worked as a landscape gardener and had experienced first hand the problems of disposing of cuttings. The client had conceived of a portable hand operated baler which would compress loose cuttings into dense bales which would be more compact and easier to handle. This had been proven with a test rig and the client was looking for a designer who could develop the concept as an enthusiasts/short term hire product and prepare marketing media.

The first stage was to undertake an ergonomic study and prepare concept designs incorporating its finding. Concept design were prepared as sketches and developed using CAD. The shortlisted design was built as a working test rig and field tested for several weeks. Video footage of the field testing was combined with animations of the product into a product showreel.

The client is actively looking for distributors and I will gladly pass on details.
